Moisture and humidity:
Because edible fungi are wet organisms, whether it is spore germination, mycelial growth, the formation of fruiting bodies requires a certain amount of relative humidity of water and air, and there is no life without moisture. The growth and development stages of edible fungi require water, and the fruit body needs more water to develop. The water is mainly derived from the culture material, and the fruit body can be formed only when the substrate has sufficient water content.
The moisture of the culture material is often lost due to evaporation or recovery, so water is sprayed according to the situation. The water content algorithm is to calculate the percentage of moisture in the wet material. Generally, the water content of the culture material suitable for the growth of edible fungi is about 60%.
