Refrigeration dehumidifiers                                                                      

Refrigerant dehumidifiers are by far the most popular in the UK. They pull air through a filter and this passes over the cooling coils, much like refrigerator coils. The coils are very cold and the water condenses out of the air and drips into integral containers (most of the units can be equipped with a permanent drain hose). The air is then heated to room temperature and blown back out of the dehumidifier.

One of the downsides of this type of dehumidifier is the amount of noise they can make, as they work in a similar way to fridges they tend to make the same noises as fridges do and some people find this constant humming a problem, although it will depend where the unit is being used.

On the positive side, refrigerant dehumidifiers tend to be the cheapest on the market and are very strong. Some dryer’s construction production rates can be very high.
