Yeast is a special lightweight foaming agent for fermented foods such as taro, steamed buns and bread. Yeast is composed of living cells and has the ability to convert sugar into alcohol and carbon dioxide.
The essence of yeast is that the yeast's high temperature drying destroys the body to ferment it: in the laboratory, the microorganism is first prepared for the seed yeast, and then used as a transparent mineral salt sugar solution, which is used as a fermentation medium. During this time, it is necessary to keep the temperature constant to achieve rapid growth of the yeast, and then the yeast cells are separated from the grown liquid by filtration. Excellent yeast extracts are very sensitive to moisture, so yeast must be produced very dry, which means that dehumidifiers are a good solution for yeast production.
When yeast and starch are mixed together, food such as bread cake can be made. Fresh yeast can only survive for several weeks at a temperature of 4 C, so it needs to be stored in a specially constructed refrigerator. Active dry yeast can be kept for two to three years without any damage. Yeast drying is a complex process that requires high-quality yeast in dry air production without destroying the yeast body.
When producing yeast at the factory, the air quality of the dried yeast must be strictly controlled, the moisture content should be kept at 10-14 particles/lb or the air dew point must be in the range of -11 to 7 C. This is because the fine yeast extract is very sensitive to moisture, so it must be very dry where the yeast is produced. When the outside warm, humid air enters the inside of the machine, the slimy yeast blocks the filter of the machine, causing production to stop. And the humid air will increase the chance of yeast agglomerating when it cools, but with the dehumidifier it can guarantee the dry air, ensuring the production speed and production quality throughout the year.
However, many factories do not have humidity control when producing yeast. It is recommended to use a dehumidifier to enhance humidity management. There are many advantages to applying dehumidifiers, such as: weather conditions are not affected, the annual production conditions are unchanged, there is no moisture regain in the product cooling process, yeast drying is not sticky, no filter clogging, high quality products, no investment cooling It can save costs by reducing unnecessary losses after dehumidification.
