A hydroelectric power plant is a plant that uses hydropower resources to generate electricity. Compared with a power plant that generates electricity by burning fossil fuels, it has the advantages of less environmental impact, high power generation efficiency, and low power generation cost. Therefore, many countries are now vigorously developing hydropower resources, and the construction of major hydropower projects is also developing rapidly.

However, many hydroelectric power plants have a problem that is wet. Affected by topography and other factors, many large hydropower stations have chosen the form of underground powerhouses. Since the hydropower station is generally buried deep underground, it is not exposed to sunlight, and the surface of the envelope structure is relatively wet, and the relative humidity of the air is often large. Especially in the turbine layer and the volute layer of the hydropower station, the relative humidity will even reach 90% RH or more, and frosting often occurs in the plant.

The damp underground space not only affects the service life of the electrical equipment, but also adversely affects the health of the staff. When some large hydropower generating equipment is in operation, the surface of the hydro-generator main shaft is prone to water droplets, and the water droplets will enter the water-conducting bearing along the oil basin cover, which brings safety hazards to the generator set.

There are many pipelines and electrical equipment in the pump house, and the surface is prone to condensation. After forming the water droplets, the water pump sealing material, metal parts and electrical components are greatly accelerated, which poses a hidden danger to the stable operation of the pump.
